My tennis buddy Larry M and his wife have been recommending the Cafe Trio on Broadway in the very hip Valentine area, as the place to eat and drink at least once this holiday season.
Althougth Sandy and I have been there only once so far, Larry and Jaime have been there over 20 times. Needless to say, the know it and love its edgy, sophisticated and busy bustling youngish cosmopolitan atmosphere. I really reslished, the great food and great wine list at very reasonable prices. I had them completely replace my roof in the spring. They did an amazing job in only 1.5 days. They gave me a no-haggle, no-hassle
estimate in around 24 hours, which included three different options
and were very specific about what each included. They were very
diligent about protecting my yard and property and they cleaned up
every scrap at the end of each day. If it weren’t for half a roof
covered in new shingles, there was no obvious sign that they had been
there at the end of day one. They expertly handled every detail; drip
rails, installing soffit vents, they even added a couple of new roof
vents where there were none before to help to vent the the attic
space. No leaks or issues since! I’m going to call them back in a
couple of months to discuss vinyl siding. Five out of five stars!

I may think of mmore later, but the one that springs to mind immediately is
Glen’s Auto Service in Parkville. I found them through a recommendation
from a friend whose fmaily has used them for years. The big “aha” was when
I took my car to the dealer and they quoted me $1300 for repairs. Glen’s
told me that some of those repairs were totally unnecessary and I ended up
spending about $250 to get my car fixed.
They have been great every time I have takem my car there, and when they
tell me something needs to be done, I really believe that they are not
selling me stuff I don’t need. They even located a used taillight to save

In addition to the repairs, they have a separate part of the business
downstairs that does inspections and oil-change type services. Super
speedy!
